First Thoughts
I may not be responsible for my first thought. I am definitely responsible for the 2nd thought.
A Loving Great Grandmother
My dear nephew in law was raised by his grandmother and great grandmother. They did a wonderful job. I am proud of my nephew and the work he is doing.
His dear great grandmother passed away a couple of years ago. My bride and I were at her bedside when she passed.
At the time, my nephew told me she was 99 years old.
When I heard her age I had an immediate thought which I shared with my nephew. I asked him if he would not judge me or think of me in a negative fashion.
I ask the same of you.
My first thought when I heard she was 99: “99 bottles of beer on the wall, 99 bottles of beer. Take one down, pass it around, 98 bottles of beer on the wall”.
It just popped into my consciousness.
She was in a coma, I was holding her hand, my wife and I were vocally praying for her.
She suddenly opened her eyes. She looked right at me and passed. It was a most profound moment.
I am very glad my nephew forgave me for “my first thought”
