In one of my very few Scuba Diving trips, our group of six was admiring a vertical reef face when someone noticed a school of very shiny fish and pointed frantically...
They were barracuda...a whole school of them. Suffice it to say we lost interest in the reef and departed rapidly.
As I understand it, (*very limited scope on this topic) barracuda are attracted by sudden or irregular movement (like a panicked diver or injured fish) or flashing shiney objects.
What an interesting life you lead....

Please tell me you did not hold your breath as you ascended?
No, still used the tanks. We did not surface. Just moved away from the last sighting place.
I was always hoping that barracuda do not attack people?

It’s hard to think of you as a journalist when you tell the truth. 😁
Thank you, Rob E. Do you mind I making you famous for your obvious question? “how long will it take for someone to call it a fake?”
Oh this would be a great honor. Thank you!
